Meet the Founder
Tony Smith · Founder, CloseReady
I've called the Chattanooga area home since 1973 — long enough to remember when the Scenic City needed a comeback, and long enough to have watched it earn one.
CloseReady started with a phone call from a friend. He was days from closing on his house when an inspection turned up a crack in the basement floor nobody knew was there. What followed was the scramble every agent in town knows too well — frantic calls, booked-up contractors, a deadline bearing down — and nearly $13,000 later, he barely got to the table.
The crack didn't almost kill his deal. The scramble did. The right contractor existed all along; there was just no fast way to find him.
That's the problem CloseReady solves — one conversation at a time — with licensed Chattanooga-area contractors who work inside the closing window, understand repair addenda, and provide the letters and sign-offs your closing actually requires.
I've lived here fifty years. This is my town, and these are my neighbors — on both sides of the transaction. If you have feedback, a contractor I should meet, or a deal on fire, reach out. I answer my own email.
